SUKA is aimed primarily for overseas Singaporean families and friends with an interest in Singapore to interact, develop friendship and to continue to support and celebrate Singapore’s multicultural events.
The nature of SUKA activities revolves around organising social and cultural events like Chinese New Year, Hari Raya, Easter, Singapore National Day, Deepavali and Christmas. SUKA also organises informal networking events, informal meals together and group trips.
Please mark your calendar for the below planned date for our upcoming events:
On the 9th of November, SUKA welcomed Members and Friends to a vibrant Deepavali celebration at the Namaste Lounge.
The evening began with a warm welcome from SUKA President Helena, setting the tone for a joyful night. Our amazing hosts, Aviral and Aparnaa, kept the energy high throughout the event.
Highlights of the night included prizes for the best-dressed guests, quiz winners, and the ever-popular raffle! Guests savored a delicious buffet, enjoyed welcome bubbles, and were treated to a dazzling dance performance by Aparnaa, Ji, Kana, and Natalie 💃🏽
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and made the event such a success. We can’t wait to see you at the next celebration! 🌟

A group of 20 SUKA members attended the spectacular performance of Hamilton at the Victoria Palace Theatre. It was an unforgettable show, made even more special by seeing Nathania Ong proudly represent Singapore in her role as Eliza Hamilton. We were thrilled to have near-stage seats at an excellent price, enhancing the experience. Stay tuned for more exciting events like this!

On a lively evening in the City, SUKA and NUS Alumni hosted a networking event at All Bar One Houndsditch, bringing together a fantastic group of attendees. The atmosphere was vibrant as everyone enjoyed drinks, finger food, and lively conversations. New friendships were sparked, and contacts exchanged, capturing the spirit of community. We were so engaged in the discussions that only a few photos were snapped toward the end, missing some of our early leavers. We look forward to organizing more of these get-togethers soon!

SUKA hosted a warm weekend of gatherings in Edinburgh with our Singaporean friends, thanks to longtime member Mei Raine and ex-co member Luca. Though it was an intimate group, we bonded over lively conversations, losing track of time during pub drinks and dinner at Queen’s Arms until 11 p.m.! The next day, we enjoyed a fantastic dim sum lunch at Imperial Palace, known as the best Chinese restaurant in the city—plenty of food to take home! Inspired by Mei’s enthusiasm for the community, we invite more Singaporeans and friends to join the WhatsApp group for future makan sessions and events.

On 27th July 2024, we had a fantastic celebration at Copthorne Tara Hotel with 170 guests, including our High Commissioner Mr. Ng.
The event was filled with Singaporean spirit, camaraderie, and delicious food. Highlights included an impressive circus acrobatic show by Singaporean Jonathan Goh and live music from the band Hao Gong Min. Our SUKA stalwart, Guan Lee, delighted us with his crooning and yodelling, inspiring some members to dance.
Creativity shone in our best-dressed contest, and thanks to our generous sponsors, 24 raffle prizes were given away, including a return ticket to Singapore. Stay tuned for details on our upcoming Singapore Fiesta on October 26th.

SUKA arranged a gathering at Singapulah, where we enjoyed a discounted set menu featuring their most beloved dishes. The cuisine was delightful, complemented by attentive service. We had exclusive use of the entire first floor, as the restaurant was closed to other guests.
The atmosphere was relaxed, fostering a wonderful occasion for old friends to reconnect and new friendships to blossom. Some of us took advantage of their retail store offerings and purchased takeaway items.
Overall, it was a joyous gathering with everyone leaving satisfied and content.
A small group of SUKA members attended the Japanese all-you-can-eat lunch yesterday at Ai Sushi in North Finchley. The food was really fresh and authentic with a great variety of options to choose from and the price was so good. The service was amazing. We had a fabulous time sharing delicious food and great conversations. The photos say it all!

“Through its cultural and networking events, SUKA has been a home away from home for many Singaporeans living in the UK. SUKA provides excellent opportunities for Singaporeans to connect with and support each other while abroad, especially for those new to the UK. It is wonderful to see Singaporeans coming together to celebrate our many multicultural festive events including the Lunar New Year, Deepavali, Hari Raya and Christmas at SUKA events. SUKA also serves as a useful platform for our British and other foreign friends to engage us and build links with Singapore.
The Singapore High Commission is happy to partner SUKA and other entities to provide appropriate assistance to Singaporeans living in the UK. For example, we worked closely together during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide emotional support, medical supplies and food to affected Singaporeans in the UK.
I look forward to building on such close cooperation and partnership with SUKA. Let us work together to keep the Singapore flag flying high in the UK.
I wish SUKA the very best in its ventures ahead!”
