EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE FOR 2026/2027

Singapore UK Association (SUKA) managed by an Executive Committee elected by the members every two years.
We are a non-profit organization run by volunteers.

Helena Lim-Poole

President

After more than a decade with SUKA, Helena is privileged and honoured to be able to continue to serve the SUKA community in the capacity of President for the term 2024/2027.  Helena loves doing a portfolio of things as she is always curious and likes to keep busy.  She is also very proud to be a Singaporean in the UK, being in a position to fly the Singapore flag high.  She is very grateful that SUKA is greatly supported by the Singapore High Commission and Singapore Global Network, allowing SUKA to accomplish many things.  Helena moved to the UK in 2006 after securing an investment banking position in the City.  She is now settled with a loving and supportive husband and daughter whom many SUKA members have met.  Helena has in addition 4 stepchildren and 8 step-grandchildren.   Her portfolio of things now include real estate, venture capital, singing in choir groups and SUKA.

Aparnaa Balamurali

Vice-President

SUKA has been the key ingredient in keeping us all connected with home away from home. Aparnaa is so grateful for this community of warm, loving, passionate Singaporeans and friends of Singapore who come together to keep us strong. She strives to make SUKA more accessible to the next generation while embracing the years of tradition SUKA has worked hard to uphold. She is a Legal professional with passions for dance, music, art and adventure, and has enjoyed the opportunities to share that with you all.

Peck Hwee (Lim) Howe

Secretary

Peck Hwee has been in the UK for over 30 years and as a SUKA member for about 7 years. She is now retired. She lives in Cambridgeshire and enjoys travelling into London for SUKA events and to meet up with friends.

Peck Hwee enjoys skiing, travelling and being a grandparent to 2 grandsons.

Jarrod Chan

Treasurer

Jarrod Chan has been based in the UK since 2013, having studied at University College London (UCL) and Imperial College London. He built his career in management consulting and financial services before founding Pagoda, a careers consultancy that helps students and young professionals succeed in high-powered careers such as finance and consulting in the UK.

An active SUKA member since 2024, Jarrod regularly supports events as a guitarist, DJ, and AV lead, and took on the role of Treasurer in 2026, supporting SUKA’s financial governance and sustainability.

Adeline Crouch

Exco Member

Adeline has been a SUKA member for a very long time! She has been on the Ex-Co in different roles under various Presidents as Secretary and more recently, as SUKA’s membership increased, she has enjoyed looking after members, particularly keeping in touch with the older members, especially those who do not have internet access. She also helps to organise events and activities for the members, and making them feel at home. The older members will remember her husband Tony who used to help and participate at events where we had to do our own catering! Those were the days! It’s interesting to see the changes over the years. She is delighted to stay on the Ex-Co again!!

Luca Campanalonga

Exco Member

Luca has been involved with SUKA since 2021 and has served on SUKA’s Executive Committee since 2023. He supports the Association’s mission to keep the Singapore community – and friends of Singapore – connected across the UK.

Based in Scotland, he has helped expand SUKA’s reach by shaping and supporting events across the country, while also contributing to major gatherings when possible.

Professionally, Luca is an engineer by training and works across deep tech and investment ecosystems, collaborating with industry, government and academia to accelerate the development and adoption of new technologies for real-world impact.

At heart, he is driven by what SUKA is about: people and community-building. Over the years, meaningful friendships and professional relationships with Singaporeans have shaped his lasting appreciation for Singapore and its multicultural spirit.

Chin Fern Wee

Exco Member

Chin Fern has been a member of SUKA, an awesome club, for at least a decade and was also a former Exco-member of the Red Dotters, in Doha, Qatar in 2006. She hopes to contribute with her experience in dealing with members from multiple nationalities and cultures having lived in many different continents herself and being involved in international clubs on a committee level.

A foodie, volunteers for local charity, loves to cook, an avid golfer, enjoys backgammon and Wordle to relax. Having just stepped down as Voting Representative/County Delegate (Golf) in Bedfordshire after five years, I will have more time to step up and be a further assistant to SUKA. If you are interested in joining the SUKA Golf Group too, give me a shout via email

Cesare Bastianini

Exco Member

SUKA allows Singaporeans in the UK to share and enjoy activities and events within a lively, vibrant and open community, and to foreigners having lived in Singapore to remain close to the Little Red Dot’s people, culture and lifestyle. Cesare, as a former Singapore resident, enjoys supporting SUKA achieve both objectives.

In London since 2018, Cesare has been working in finance within private markets for a few decades. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, travelling and attending gigs and exhibitions, with friends or his two teenage sons.
