The Event:\u00a0 <\/strong>This event is organised by singer-songwriter Naomi Suzuki (\u00a0<\/span>http:\/\/www.naomisuzuki.co.uk<\/u><\/span><\/a> ) and\u00a0the Japanese community in commemoration of the earthquake and tsunami of 5 years ago. It is a collaboration of top UK-based Japanese musicians, and\u00a0we will be treated to a combination of Japanese music and modern pop songs. You can see more details at\u00a0<\/span>https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/1665512723716686<\/u><\/span><\/a>.\u00a0Funds raised will be sent to the Children’s Smile Project ( <\/span>http:\/\/egaobus.kodomonooka.com<\/u><\/span><\/a> – sorry, in Japanese only), to comfort and brighten the lives of children in the devastated area.<\/p>\n

Timing:\u00a0 <\/strong>The doors will open at 6pm, and the event will start at 7pm and end at about 9pm.<\/span><\/p>\n

Detailed Programme:\u00a0 <\/strong>We will hear and see the following performers:
\nJoji Hirota ( <\/span>http:\/\/www.jojihirota.com<\/u><\/span><\/a> – taiko drummer and shakuhachi player);
\nDiana Yukawa ( <\/span>http:\/\/www.dianayukawa.com<\/u><\/span><\/a> –\u00a0violin, electronic classics);
\nHibiki Ichikawa (\u00a0<\/span>http:\/\/www.hibikishamisen.com<\/u><\/span><\/a> –\u00a0shamisen player);
\nThames Daiko (one of Joji Hirota’s taiko drumming groups);
\nChildren from Fukushima (including Nihon Buyo, traditional dancing).
